Prayers for Parliament and the Nation: Friday, 26 May 2017

" I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. "

  • Election campaigning was suspended this week following Monday night's terror attack in Manchester which left 22 people dead and 59 people injured.
  • Leaders of the G7 will meet this weekend in Italy.
  • Students across the country will be taking their GCSEs and A Levels throughout May and June.
  • EU officials are sticking with their demand that the UK pay a divorce fee of €100bn on leaving the EU, but the British Government has stated this figure is too high.
  • A tiny, uninhabited island in the South Pacific is one of the most polluted places in the world with nearly 18 tonnes of plastic on the island having been deposited on its shores. Plastics pollution through microplastics and microfibres is reaching crisis point.
