Prayers for Parliament and the Nation - Friday, 17 February 2017

" I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. "

- 1 Timothy 2:1-4

This week, the Church of England's General Synod rejected the House of Bishops' report on sexuality and marriage; the Ministry of Justice announced the replacement of the National Offender Management Service with a new service to oversee the implementation of the Government's prison reforms; the Government announced it will stop any further unaccompanied refugee children coming to the UK under the Dubs Amendment once a limit of 350 has been met; and both the former Irish Prime Minister, Bertie Ahern, and the current Prime Minister, Enda Kenny, expressed their opposition to a post-Brexit hard border between Ireland and Northern Ireland.
